Booksource has improved the login process for new and current Classroom users, as well as given users more access to make changes to their own account, i.e. Classroom ID, creating new classrooms, and deleting classroom accounts.

After entering and verifying the code, you can proceed to fill out the next four fields, including your password. If the password does not meet the strength requirements, you'll receive an alert. Confirm your new password and provide a first name and last name before clicking "Create" to start creating your Booksource Classroom account.

If you have more than one Classroom under a single email address, they will be listed on your "Choose a Classroom Account" page (see example below). Once you select your classroom account, you will be taken to the Teacher/Student login page.

2. Sign in to your Booksource Classroom account

Use the email address linked to your Classroom account and the same password you've previously used to log in.

All classroom accounts will now be linked to your single email address. When you log in, you'll be directed to a page showing all your classrooms. Once you select your classroom account, you will be taken to the Teacher/Student login page.

If you want to access the Teacher page, select "Teachers" and enter the teacher password. To access the Student page, students can select "Students" and proceed to their appropriate group and student name.

3. New options for Classroom users

The Settings page has been updated with new features to give Classroom users more flexibility to update their account and Classroom information.

Users can now update their Classroom ID by selecting Classroom Name & Security. You'll be directed to a page requesting the new Classroom Name and your Teacher Password before saving changes.

Users can also add a new Classroom by selecting Create New Classroom and inputting the Classroom Name and Teacher Password.

If you want to delete a classroom account, go to your Settings, select Delete Classroom Account, and you'll be redirected to the following page.

Before deleting your account, you have the option to download an Excel spreadsheet of your account's library. Once you're ready to delete your account, input the account name and select Delete Account to proceed.

4. Student Barcode Scanner for Check-Out

Students can now utilize an in-browser barcode scanner to check books out from the library. Students will simply need to click within the search bar for the camera icon to appear. Click on the camera icon, and center the barcode within the viewfinder. Click search, and the title should appear on the screen, prompting the student to click on the titles image tile to check out.

5. Allow Site to Access Device setting on iPhones

Users who access Classroom via a mobile browser on their iPhone may be asked to Allow Site to Access Device each time they open the camera on their phone.

With any website open, tap the "AA" icon in the top left corner. Then select "Website Settings," which will enable you to set camera permissions to "Allow" instead of "Ask." This can be solved from iOS 13 onwards - this setting is not available before iOS 13.
