Booksource's Classroom Library program is compatible with most scanners available. If you are having difficulties with your scanner, please attempt the following steps to troubleshoot your issue: 

 

  • Ensure your Classroom Library is set up for barcode scanning. To do this, please follow the steps below: 

  1. Sign into your Booksource Classroom account  
  2. Navigate to the Teacher Dashboard 
  3. Select Settings Enable/Disable Preferences
  4. Scroll down to USB Barcode Scanning options (shown below) 
  5. Select the check box 'I have a USB Barcode Scanner Attached' 
  6. Select Save Settings at the bottom right-hand side of the screen 

 


Once your library is set to allow barcode scanning, attempt to scan a title into your library again. If this does not resolve your issue, please continue onto the next steps below: 


  1. Open a blank document (Notepad, Microsoft Word, etc.) 
  2. Click into the blank document and scan 3-4 different titles. If there are two barcodes on the title, please try covering the smaller of the two with your thumb (barcode #9000 shown below)

If the ISBN does not appear in the document, there is likely an issue with the scanner and/or the scanner's connection to the computer. Please submit a help ticket here for further troubleshooting.
